Butyl (IIR):

Butyl is copolymer of isobutene and isoprenehas. It has extremely low gas permeability and low water absorption, as well as environmental elements such as ozone, oxygen and weathering. The key properties for this rubber are very low gas permeability and water absorption with very good resistance to ozone, weathering and oxygen.

Temp Range:

  • -58F to + 250F

Common Physical Attributes:

  • Black in color if 70 duro
  • 70 +/- 5 Durometer (hardness rating)
  • Low gas permeability
  • Excellent weathering and aging resistance

Chemical Resistance:

  • Most chemicals

Not Recommended for use with:

  • Mineral and petroleum based oils
